The Federal Government has gazetted Thaipusam Day and Federal Territories Day as public holidays for 2026, which fall on 1 February each.
Employees serving in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan are entitled to two additional days of leave as replacement holidays for Thaipusam and Federal Territory Day. Monday and Tuesday of that week are designated as replacement holidays if your employer has chosen Thaipusam as one of the six optional public holidays, and employees will resume work starting on Wednesday.
